6. To carry out capacity building in disaster preparedness

7. Formation and empowerment of crisis response community groups.

8. Research, documentation and dissemination of crisis and livelihood related information.

9. Prevention of health epidemics and promotion of public health

10. Training of rural communities in management of social, economic and crises.

11. Mainstreaming gender, natural resource management and HIV/ AIDS related issues in UCCP activities.

12. Promotion of human rights based approaches in development planning and implementation strategies.
